Having designed a garden for these clients a few years ago they asked me to revisit as they were adding an extension to the house which meant reconfiguring the side garden.

As a traditional house with a modern interior I decided to incorporate modern white rendered walls into the plan but finish the top of the wall with blond sandstone to match the house. A circular patio area led out on to the existing lawn but the raised planting bed gives a feeling of a private courtyard. The plants were chosen for fragrance and all year round colour and interest.
