A Contemporary Garden
This is a newly built property where the clients wanted a contemporary garden with multiple areas for entertaining. There are two modern composite black decks. These decks are a low maintenance alternative to wood. Leading from one of the decks is a path to the patio which is constructed of random laid Dark Jade Natural Slate and edged with Black cobbles.
The white rendered walls surrounding the patio offer additional seating on the slate coping stones. Three white rendered planting beds display the Buxus sempervirens cones surrounded by Lavander and mulched with the black cobbles. A seat between the planters will provide a good view down the raised walkway to the patio.
The black pergola over the raised walkway will be covered in a profusion of flowers from the Clematis trained up the posts.
The white peeling bark of the Betula utilis var Jacquemontii (Himalayan Birch) can be seen clearly during the day and then become a feature of the garden at night when they are illuminated by the up- lighters, especially against the backdrop of the coloured rendered wall in the corner.
At the front of the house the new Graphite grey drivesetts tone with the slate grey raised planters and dark jade steps.
