Welcome to Anne Macfie Garden Design

This house has had a recent extension added. The garden was on two levels and a more permanent division made between the upper and lower part of the garden. As a fence would have enclosed the upper patio too much it was decided to build a wide planting bed as a barrier and have access steps down either side.

As the box hedging becomes established this will be clipped into a formal border around the raised planting bed. Some stone left over from the construction of the extension was interspersed in the walling to unite the extension with the garden.

Another  patio on the lower level was added to maximise the last of the sun in the evening.

Futher planting will be done in spring 2010.
